The weird markings are actually chemical structures of aromatic molecules with punctilious names like d-limonene, linalyl acetate, geraniol and a-bisabolol. These little guys are so delightful to me that I've displayed a few around my massage room.
Sometimes during a massage, I'll catch myself glancing at a molecule and trying to name it. So if you're a massage client and hear me mutter "Linalol C10H18O" or catch me whispering "Linalyl acetate C12H2oO2" you'll know why.

Aroma-nerd! You've created a new word haven't you! I like the Hot pink OH! Your room looks like such a sanctuary...I want to be there!
Waaaah, aroma-nerd. fabulous, I prefer Smelly Woman but then I'm a Brit and I am a bit peculiar.
Funny funny you xx
I love love LOVE them! I have a shirt with the caffeine molecule on it. It's funny how many people stare at my chest... I assume they are trying to figure out what my shirt is. I bought my step-daughter one with the ethanol molecule and everyone in her chem class loves it -- she's 22 so it' legal ;)
Love the coasters... I need the website so I can be an aromanerd too.
If you want a set of these coaster, they are $42 and you can write to andrea@aromahead.com.
those coaster are grrrrreat! just having finished a three-day-teaching and all my students were happy and grateful I hereby declare: I am an chemistry-of-aromatherapy-nerd!!!
ps I am touched by your photographs of your Italian ex-home. Especially as I am grateful that I flew out of Ireland with the last flight from Kerry. Having to teach another chemistry course next week in Zuerich I am not in a hurry to fly home. There hasn't been a single plane or white line on the sky for days!
This is just too much! I love those coasters!
