In Memory of Alex

Dear friends just lost their 17-year old son in a car accident. He was a great kid and a nationally ranked swimmer. He was YMCA State Champion, YMCA Nationals Finalist for two years in a row and a Nationals Participant since 8th grade. Alex enjoyed hunting, fishing, motocross, snowboarding, skate boarding, BMX bikes, mountain biking, golf and photography and had a personality as big as life. He was charismatic and loved by everyone who knew him.

He wasn't wearing his seatbelt. His girlfriend was and walked out of the hospital. Please take 90 seconds to watch this short, powerful video.

~i am so very sorry to hear of you and your friends tragic loss...may your hearts be freed from pain and your mind put to ease...life is full of the unknown and leaves us with questions unanswered...words left to remain unspoken...i feel sometimes we are just not meant to know...for there is someone higher who has the reason...it is never easy when a life is taken especially when so young...may comfort come in the days to follow and help guide you all through this moment...my heart is aching...

my father lost his brother in the same manner and i for one was quite guilty of this when i was young...it wasn't until i had my first child that the reality came and put me in my place...

my thoughts are with you in this time...much love and light shining upon you all and blessings from my heart~

Oh, Liz, I am so sorry! I do not know your friends, but I can feel their loss. This is a mother's nightmare, and my heart is breaking.

I pray for you to find additional strength in this time as you support your friend.

Again, my condolences...

I saw this video a couple of days ago & thought aha, a positive way to put these thoughts out there.

I am so so sorry for your loss, for your friends' loss. I have a friend who lost her son the same way, years ago - it is a pain you don't leave behind, it only eases. But my prayers are headed their way, and your way.

I'm so sorry to hear about such a tragedy. Sending you and his family loving energy. I agree, this is such a beautiful, powerful video. The first time I saw it, I could not get over how it effected me. I've been sending it to everyone. Seat belts are so important. It is a blessing the girlfriend was wearing hers.
