My Life is Complete! (for now....)

I've been penny pinching and practicing the art of tightwadrey for several months, saving for a new SLR camera. After much soul-searching, online-searching, discussions with friends and strangers, looking at online pics, and visits to stores, I purchased my new baby yesterday!

Now I can delight myself (and maybe a follower or two) with photos of:

tutorials on making aromatic ointments, blends, etc.
my miniatures
massage studio
more art journaling (taking a class in June - can't wait to share what I learn)
soul collage cards
our tipi
pre-1840 encampments
local interests (I live in Amish country - I'll have to be super sneaking taking those shots)
my garden
my art
the ongoing construction of my home
my fairy garden (yeah, I know. I'm really about nine years old)

...and whatever else I want!

seriously, i'm so excited for you! you will be totally in love before you know it!! it will change your life (i know mine did). :-)

that's fabulous!!

you'll have to share what you learn in that class, i've not had one and i'm sure i'm missing out on all kinds of stuff it can do.

yay! what a lovely bit of news for the weekend.

but it is a slippery slope. it won't be long before you'll want new lenses. my first was a nikkor 18-200mm zoom.

then a lensbaby.

and then a 60mm macro.

and a wide angle...

this is only the beginning. but it's an exciting beginning for sure!

Congrats!! You are soooo going to love the D60....and julochka is right...keep saving those pennies, this is only the beginning of a long wonderful love affair!!

Can't wait to see some pictures!

Julie- I COULD FEEL YOUR ENTHUSIASM CLEAR ACROSS THE ATLANTIC! I already bought a second lens:55-200 zoom 'cause it was half-priced with the camera. I can feel the tug of interesting new lenses even as I type...
Beth- You have this camera, too? I'll have to go back and look at your blog with a new eye!!

I'm going to get a camera for my birthday! The boyfriend is deciding which one, but seeing how much excitement this one provokes, I'll have to suggest we get this one!

B- Oh yes, please do join the Nikon Newbies club with me! We can stumble along together.

Oooooohhh! This is the camera I really wanted, but alas, I was not willing to penny pinch long enough. (it's always been an issue of mine) Someday, someday. Until then, I'll live vicariously through you! Congrats on your new little beauty.

I can't wait to see your fairy garden. I have one, but of course i always say it's for my granddaughter. :) and since it's been so hot here, it needs some work. but i love them!
